Dear friends of the Museum for Islamic Art,

We would like to cordially invite you to the fifth Tandem Sofa on November 27, 2023 at 6:30 pm. This time we will be sitting on our virtual sofa: Dima Dayoub, staff member at the Syrian Heritage Archive Project and Prof. Dr. Matthias Weiter, Professor of Development Studies at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. The online event will be held in English.
In spring, we asked you for emergency aid for the earthquake damage in the old city of Aleppo, and we received an impressive €23,000. Your donations went towards tailor-made aid for historic homes in Aleppo threatened by collapse and the stabilization of the listed Khan al-Wazir portal. In this talk, we would like to inform you about the use of the funds, the current situation in Aleppo and the necessary further measures.
